About Search Result/Competitor
Search Result/Competitor is a competitive keyword intelligence tool in Search Ads Intelligence that lets you compare two apps’ paid keyword strategies head to head through Apple Ads. Load your app and a competitor and the tool splits their keyword lists into three segments: keywords only you bid on, keywords you both bid on, and keywords only the competitor bids on.
What Search Result/Competitor shows you
At the top of the page, headline metrics show active countries, Apple Ads VS, and Visibility Score for both apps side by side. Three segment cards in the middle show the total keyword count for each overlap category. The keyword table below updates based on the segment you select, showing impression share, rank, ranked apps, and search popularity for both apps on every keyword in that segment.
The three keyword segments
- Unique paid keywords: keywords only your app bids on, showing where you have exclusive paid coverage.
- Mutual paid keywords: keywords both apps bid on, where you compete head to head for impressions.
- Competitor-only paid keywords: keywords only the competitor bids on, revealing gaps in your own coverage.
When to use Search Result/Competitor
- Find high-volume keywords the competitor bids on that you do not, and evaluate whether they are worth adding to your campaigns.
- Check mutual keywords to see where the competitor is outbidding you on impression share and prioritize those terms for bid adjustments.
- Compare active countries to understand whether differences in keyword coverage are driven by market strategy.
- Export competitor-only keywords to share with your Apple Ads team as a gap analysis input.
