Go global with Keyword Translator

When expanding your app to global markets, keyword localization is more than just translation—it’s about finding the right words that resonate with your audience in each country. That’s where the Keyword Translator tool comes in.

This tool allows you to instantly translate your app store keywords into 20+ languages, helping you localize your ASO efforts at scale without relying on manual research or generic translation tools.

At its core, the Keyword Translator helps you:

  • Translate your selected keywords into multiple languages with a single click

  • Explore how those translations appear across app stores globally

  • Monitor character count usage for each language-specific keyword set

  • Reduce the risk of low-performing keywords due to inaccurate or awkward translations

Step 1: Choose your source language and keywords

At the top of the tool, select the language you’re translating from. Most users begin with English, but you can choose any supported language.

Then, enter the keywords you want to translate. For example:
workout, yoga, pilates

Once you’ve entered your list, click Translate to generate equivalent keyword suggestions across all available languages.

Step 2: Review translated keywords by market

The dashboard now displays translations for each language side by side. Each row shows:

  • The target language and clickable country flags for regional nuances

  • The translated keywords

  • The character count used out of 100 

Each translated keyword is displayed with a character count beneath it. This allows you to plan metadata entries without exceeding the character limit for each locale.

You’ll quickly notice how character length and word count vary across languages, especially when translating from English into more text-heavy languages like Turkish or Thai.

Step 3: Identify and adjust for length issues

Some languages naturally require more characters to convey the same idea. For example, the Indonesian translation may use up to 91/100 characters, while others like Chinese or Japanese may only use 10–15.

Use this information to:

  • Prioritize shorter, high-impact keywords

  • Remove duplicates or overly long phrases

  • Make sure nothing gets cut off by staying within the character limit—while still focusing on keywords that drive results

Step 4: Apply translated keywords to your localization strategy

Once you're happy with your translated keyword sets:

  • Export them or copy-paste them into your App Store Connect localization entries

  • Align them with your localized titles, subtitles, and descriptions

  • Combine this data with Keyword Tracking or Visibility Reports to measure impact in local markets
