View keyword ranking history

The Ranking History tab in Keyword Tracking lets you plot how your app's ranking for up to five keywords has changed over a selected time period, with the option to overlay competitor ranking lines on the same chart.

If you have not added keywords yet, go to Add keywords to Keyword Tracking first.

Before you start

The Ranking History tab shows a list of your tracked keywords on the left and a chart on the right. You need to select keywords from the list to see their ranking history plotted on the chart.

You can select up to five keywords at a time; this is a hard limit. The chart updates immediately as you check and uncheck keywords.

How to use it

1. Click the Ranking History tab at the top of the Keyword Tracking page.

2. In the keyword list on the left, check the boxes next to the keywords you want to compare. You can select up to five keywords. Each selected keyword appears as a separate line on the chart, color-coded to match the legend below the chart.

3. Use the date range picker at the top right to set the time period. You can choose from presets (Last 7 days, Last 14 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last Week) or set a custom date range using the calendar. Click Apply to confirm.

4. Hover over any point on the chart to see a tooltip showing the exact rank for each selected keyword on that date. This makes it easy to pinpoint when a ranking changed and by how much.

5. Use the Selected only toggle to filter the table to only the keywords you have checked, if you want to focus on the selected subset.

After you finish

Use ranking history to identify patterns. Keywords that drop consistently around specific dates may be affected by seasonal demand or competitor metadata updates.

To export the ranking history data, go to Export, copy, and share Keyword Tracking data. To investigate a keyword's search volume trends alongside its ranking history, click on the icon available for each keyword in the volume column and use the Volume History popup.
