Switch between Normal Sort and Smart Sort

Biggest Losers offers two sorting modes that change how rank decline is calculated and displayed. Choose the mode that fits the type of analysis you want to run.

Normal Sort

Normal Sort measures rank decline over a single day. It shows apps that dropped the most positions between yesterday and the selected end date, giving you a snapshot of what fell most sharply in the last 24 hours.

Use Normal Sort when you want to:

  • Catch apps that dropped sharply overnight or in the last 24 hours.
  • Identify immediate reactions to a negative event, a bad update, or an expired campaign.
  • Get a quick daily briefing on which apps are losing ranking momentum.

Smart Sort

Smart Sort measures rank decline across a custom date range defined by a Start Date and an End Date. It shows apps that dropped the most positions from the start of the period to the end, letting you identify sustained decliners rather than single-day dips.

Use Smart Sort when you want to:

  • Track sustained decline over a week, month, or any custom window.
  • Identify apps that have been steadily falling rather than experiencing a one-off drop.
  • Evaluate the cumulative ranking impact of a longer-term shift in user sentiment or market dynamics.

Switch between modes

  1. Find the Normal Sort and Smart Sort toggles at the top left of the page.
  2. Click the mode you want to use.
  3. When Smart Sort is selected, a Start Date picker appears next to the End Date picker. Set both dates to define your measurement window.
