# Compare keyword rankings against competitors
Report by Competitors' Ranking in ASO Report overlays a selected competitor's ranking distribution on your app's All Ranked Keywords set.
This feature lets you see, for the same pool of keywords, how your position band distribution compares to theirs, and where they are outranking you.

### Before you start
**Report by Competitors' Ranking** uses your All Ranked Keywords set as the base. The competitor's ranking data is then overlaid for comparison. The competitor must be associated with your app in ASO Report, the competitor selector dropdown shows the apps available for comparison.
### Open Report by Competitors' Ranking
1\. Open **ASO Report** from the ASO Intelligence section in the navigation menu.
2\. Click **Report by Competitors' Ranking** in the Distributions sub-tab row.
3\. Use the competitor selector dropdown below the sub-tab row to choose the competitor you want to compare against.
### What you see
The **Ranking Graph** shows the same stacked area chart as Report By Ranking, but the Visibility Score line now represents the selected competitor's score rather than yours. This lets you see how their overall visibility has tracked alongside the keyword distribution over time.
The **Ranking Bars** on the right show the competitor's keyword count by position band at the selected point in time. Comparing these bars to your own Report By Ranking view tells you which bands the competitor is stronger or weaker in.
### Using the chart controls
The **App Updates** toggle, **date range picker**, and **Annotations** controls work the same way as in other reports. Enabling App Updates for this view shows your app's release dates (not the competitor's) which is useful for checking whether your updates affected the relative ranking picture. ### After you finish
If a competitor has a significantly higher proportion of keywords in the 1–10 band for your shared keyword set, that identifies where the ranking gap is most significant.
Use Keyword Inspector to analyze specific terms where the gap is largest and assess whether those keywords are realistic targets for your app.
