Compare competitor keyword rankings
The Competitor Analysis tab in Keyword Tracking shows how your app and your competitors rank for the same tracked keywords side by side, so you can see where you are ahead, where you are falling behind, and which keywords represent the clearest opportunities.
If you have not added keywords yet, go to Add keywords to Keyword Tracking first.
Before you start
The Competitor Analysis tab shows rankings for the competitors you have added to Keyword Tracking.
You can add up to 5 competitors using the selector at the top of the tab. These competitors can be selected among the tracked competitors in the above section available for every tool.
.
Each competitor appears as a separate column in the table. The view uses the same keyword group filter as the Tracked Keywords tab, so you can narrow the comparison to a specific group.
How to use it
1. Click the Competitor Analysis tab at the top of the Keyword Tracking page.
3. Use the Type column to see whether the keyword is an Apple Ads keyword and whether it is a branded or metadata keyword. This helps you understand the context of the ranking for each term.
4. Review rank change indicators next to each rank value. An upward arrow with a number shows how many positions the app has gained since the last update; a downward arrow shows positions lost.
5. Click the magnifying glass icon next to any rank value to open the Live App Rankings popup for that keyword, showing the full ranked list of apps in real time.

6. Use the competitor app chips at the top of the table to toggle individual competitors on or off, so you can focus the comparison on specific apps.
7. Use the date picker at the top right to select a specific date and see what rankings looked like on that day.
8. Use the Selected only toggle to filter the table to only the keywords you have checked, if you want to focus on a specific subset.

After you finish
Use what you find to prioritize your ASO and Apple Ads strategy.
Keywords where competitors rank significantly higher than you and where your Chance score is strong are typically the best candidates for metadata improvement or increased bidding.
To see how rankings have changed over time for specific keywords, go to View keyword ranking history.
