Compare competitor creatives by app
The Creatives by App view in Creative Monitoring lets you select up to five apps and display all their icons, screenshots, and videos side by side, so you can compare visual styles, color choices, and messaging in one screen.
If you want to browse trends across the whole App Store or Google Play Store or a category instead, go to Browse creative trends by category.
Before you start
You can compare up to five apps at the same time in the Creatives by App view. You do not need to have the apps tracked in your MobileAction platform account, you can search for any app available on the App Store or Google Play Store. The same filters available in the Creatives by Category view also apply here and can be combined freely.
How to use it
1. Open Creative Monitoring from the MobileAction platform navigation menu.
2. Switch to the Creatives by App tab at the top of the page.
3. Use the app selector to add the apps you want to compare. Your own app appears first by default. Add up to four more apps by searching for them by name. Each selected app appears as a column in the view.
4. Use the filters to refine what you see across all selected apps. The All Types / With Video / Without Video dropdown controls whether video creatives are included. The All Assets / Only Icons toggle switches between all creative types and icons only. The All Categories, Free / Grossing / Paid toggles work the same way as in the Creatives by Category view.
5. Use the date picker to set a specific date and see how each app's creatives looked at that point in time. Click Apply to confirm your selection.
6. Browse the side-by-side columns. Each app displays its latest icons, screenshots, and videos in a column, with its rank shown alongside the creatives. This makes it easy to compare visual approaches, color palettes, and screenshot messaging across apps at a glance.7. Click any creative to open a larger preview for a closer look.
8.To see more details about a specific app, click the app's name or icon. This takes you to that app's profile page in the MobileAction platform, where you can view additional performance data.
After you finish
If you want to track how a specific app's creatives have changed across app versions over time, use App Update Timeline. If you want to save specific creatives for future reference or team sharing, go to Create and manage creative collections.
