Change your MMP
Changing your MMP is a significant step, but MobileAction’s Apple Ads Campaign Management Platform is designed to minimize disruption to your campaign data during the switch. The platform supports multiple MMP integrations, which means you can add a new MMP without removing your existing one. This article covers the full process when you do want to remove an existing MMP and replace it with a new one.
Important: Removing an MMP integration from the Apple Ads CMP deletes all MMP data that was stored in the platform for that integration. Data collection for the new MMP will begin from scratch from the moment it is connected. Plan the switch carefully to avoid gaps in your reporting.
Before you switch
Before you remove your existing MMP integration, consider the following:
- All historical MMP data associated with the integration will be removed from MobileAction’s Apple Ads Campaign Management Platform once you disconnect.
- New data collection begins from zero with the new MMP, so recent trend comparisons will not be possible during the early days after the switch.
- Automations, goals, and any other configurations that depend on MMP metrics may need to be updated or recreated after the new integration is in place.
Three steps to change your MMP
1. Remove your existing MMP integration.
Navigate to Attribution in the Apple Ads CMP and select the MMP integration you want to remove. This stops data flow from the previous MMP to the Apple Ads CMP.
Note: Disconnecting the integrated MMP on the Apple Ads CMP side does not delete the connection from your MMP's platform. If you want to fully disconnect the MMP, you also need to visit the MMP's own platform and remove the connection there.
2. Connect your new MMP.
Once the old data has been successfully removed and confirmed by the team, connect your new MMP. MobileAction’s Apple Ads Campaign Management Platform supports multiple MMP integrations, and the setup instructions for each MMP are available in the per-MMP guides. Follow the guide for your new MMP carefully to ensure the setup is correct.
3. Monitor the new integration.
After the new MMP is connected, monitor the integration to confirm that data is flowing through correctly. The integration status on the Attribution page should progress from Pending First Event to Create First Goal to Integrated as data starts arriving and goals are created.
After you switch
- Allow at least two weeks for data to mature. This period is essential for accumulating enough data to enable effective goal-based optimizations in your campaigns.
- Recreate or update any affected automations and goals. If you had automations or goals configured with the previous MMP's data, revisit these to make sure they are aligned with the new integration.
- Disconnect the old MMP from the MMP side if you want a full cut-off. The steps in this article only remove the MMP from MobileAction’s Apple Ads Campaign Management Platform. If you want to stop the MMP from processing your data entirely, also remove the connection on the MMP's own platform.
