Can I target a specific US state in my Apple Ads campaigns?

Not through storefront selection, the setting that controls which country or region your campaign runs in. But Apple Ads does support narrowing your audience to a smaller area within some single-country campaigns, including the U.S., through a separate Audience setting.

What Storefront selection controls

Storefront(s), set in campaign setup, determines which App Store countries or regions your ad is eligible to run in. This is a market-level selection. You can choose one or more countries or regions, but not states, cities, or other areas within a country.

What can narrow further: Location under Audience Targeting

Separate from Storefront, the Audience Targeting step of Ad Group Setup lets you narrow your targeting by selecting Choose Specific Audiences, which includes a Location field alongside Devices, Customer Types, Gender, and Age Range.

This Location field lets you search for and select specific areas to narrow your audience to, within the country you are running in. It is only available in a specific list of countries and regions, including the U.S., and only for campaigns running in a single country. It cannot be set for campaigns running across multiple countries or regions.

The exact locations available can vary by country, so the reliable way to confirm what you can select is to open Choose Specific Audiences under Audience Targeting when creating or editing an ad group, and search in the Location field directly.
