Browse category events
The Category Events tab shows live and ended in-app events across an entire App Store category.
It helps you understand how apps in your vertical are using event slots, identify creative themes and timing patterns, and spot seasonal or recurring campaigns.
Open the Category Events view
- Open In-App Events from the App Intelligence menu.
- Switch to the Category Events tab at the top of the page.
- Use the category selector at the top right to pick the App Store category you want to browse.

Filter by region, category, and date
- Open the country selector to narrow events to a specific market.
- Open the category selector to filter by a specific App Store category, such as Games, Lifestyle, or Health and Fitness.
- Open the date picker to set the analysis range.
- The feed reloads with events matching your selections.
Keep in mind!
If you don’t see any in-app events in the tool, first check if you have the right store selected.
What you see in the feed
Events are split into three sections: Live Events at the top, Ended Events and Available Events below. Each event card shows:
- The event type label (such as Special Event, Challenge, Major Update, or Live Event).
- The event title and banner image.
- The start and end date and time.
- The source app name and its App Store category.
Click Show More at the end of either section to load additional events or scroll left.
Click any event card to open its detail view and read the full description and messaging.
What to look for
- Event types that appear frequently in your category can signal what Apple’s algorithm favors for featured placement.
- Clusters of events on the same dates suggest seasonal moments that other apps are capitalizing on.
- Recurring campaigns from the same app indicate a consistent event strategy worth studying.
- Quiet periods in your category can signal an opportunity to stand out with your own event.
