Ads Manager Overview
Ads Manager is the campaign management and reporting tool in the MobileAction campaign management platform. It gives you a single place to monitor performance, analyze results, and manage your Apple Ads campaigns across every level of your account, from campaign groups down to individual keywords.
This page links to all Ads Manager articles organized by topic. If you are new to the product, start with the Get Started section. If you are looking for a specific feature, find the relevant section below.
Get started
Learn what Ads Manager is, how it is organized, and what you can do with it.
Understand how Campaign Groups, Apps, Campaigns, Ad Groups, Keywords, Search Terms, Ads, Custom Product Pages, and Negative Keywords are structured and when to use each layer.
Find definitions for every metric available in Ads Manager, including ad performance, in-app conversion, cohort, and custom metrics.
Create campaigns and assets
Set up a new Apple Ads campaign by selecting your app, ad placements, storefront, budget, and ad group settings in a single creation flow.
Build a structured set of Brand, Competitor, and Generic campaigns in three steps using keyword suggestions and automatic budget allocation.
Add a standalone ad group to an existing campaign and configure its targeting, bidding, audience, and creative settings.
Select keywords from organic, paid, and ASO-tracked suggestions, enter them manually, set match types, and apply them to your ad groups.
Create an ad by selecting a custom product page as the creative source and preview how it appears across devices before saving.
Exclude specific search terms from your campaigns or ad groups at either the campaign or ad group level.
View and report
Add, remove, and reorder columns in the table view, and save column configurations as presets to keep your view consistent across sessions.
Build calculated metrics using the formula builder. Choose from Default, Goal-Based, or Category-Based column types depending on your reporting needs.
Learn how to read the performance graph, switch between metrics, and adjust chart granularity between daily, weekly, and monthly views.
Select date ranges, switch between install time and event time, and compare two periods side by side to spot performance changes.
Break down your campaign data using the Group By feature. Segment by campaign structure, storefront, ad placement, label, campaign type, or time to get a more granular view of performance.
Create filters with multiple conditions using AND/OR logic, group related conditions, compare metrics across levels, and apply them across Campaigns, Ad Groups, and Keywords layers.
Filter campaigns, ad groups, or keywords based on how a metric has increased or decreased compared to a previous period, and combine trend conditions with other filter logic.
Save any filter configuration under a custom name, reapply saved filters in future sessions without rebuilding them, and delete saved filters you no longer need.
Understand which filter types are available at each layer, why certain filters or metrics may appear greyed out, and what the tooltip messages mean when a condition cannot be applied.
See practical examples of filter combinations UA managers and app growth teams use to spot performance issues, identify high-spend low-return keywords, and surface trends quickly.
Set up automated report exports delivered by email or Slack on a recurring schedule, manage existing reports, and review past delivery runs.
Review a chronological log of all edits, creations, duplications, and deletions made across your account.
