Top Charts is a daily ranking tool that shows the leading apps on the App Store and Google Play Store across three chart types: Free, Paid, and Grossing. Use it to get an instant read on who is winning in any category and market on any given day.
What Top Charts shows you
The tool displays three columns side by side. The Free chart ranks apps by download volume among free apps. The Paid chart ranks apps by download volume among paid apps. The Grossing chart ranks apps by revenue from in-app purchases and subscriptions, regardless of whether the app itself is free or paid.
Each app entry shows the current rank position, the app icon, name, developer, average rating, and category. On the App Store, apps running Apple Search Ads are labeled with an Apple Ads badge, letting you quickly identify which ranked apps are combining paid user acquisition with strong organic performance.
When to use Top Charts
- Check your app’s current rank position and how it compares to the top performers in your category.
- Monitor competitor movement day over day to catch surges or drops before they compound.
- Spot new entrants near the top of a chart that may signal a viral moment, a heavy paid campaign, or a major product launch.
- Use the Apple Ads label on the App Store to identify ranked apps that are investing in paid search alongside their organic position.
