# About Similar Apps
Similar Apps tool reveals how an app is positioned in the App Store and Google Play Store recommendation feeds. App stores surface similar apps on product pages to help users discover alternatives, and these recommendations can drive significant organic installs for the apps that appear in them.
### What Similar Apps shows you
The tool has two tabs. The Similar Apps tab shows every app recommended under a selected app’s product page in the store’s similar apps section. The Listed As A Similar App tab flips the perspective and shows every product page where the selected app appears as a similar recommendation.
Both tabs include organic visibility, category ranking, overall ranking, average rating, and rating count for each app in the list, so you can size up the competitive strength of what you are being compared against.
### When to use Similar Apps
- Identify which competitors are being recommended alongside your app and benchmark their organic visibility and ranking strength.
- Find high-visibility apps that list your app as similar, since users browsing those pages can discover yours organically.
- Track how the recommendation feed shifts over time to spot changes in how the store algorithm is positioning your app.
- Use the Listed As A Similar App view to uncover unexpected audience overlap with apps in adjacent categories.
