About Competitor Keywords

Competitor Keywords is a tool in the MobileAction platform that shows you the organic keywords your app and your competitors rank for, so you can identify gaps in your keyword coverage, find terms competitors rank for that you do not, and discover shared keywords where you can improve your position.

If you want to start comparing right away, go to Find keyword gaps with Direct Comparison or Compare keyword overlap across multiple competitors.

How Competitor Keywords works

Competitor Keywords has two tabs.

Direct Comparison lets you compare your app against one competitor at a time using a Venn diagram that splits keywords into three segments: keywords only your app ranks for, keywords both apps rank for, and keywords only your competitor ranks for. Selecting any segment loads a detailed keyword table for that set.

Multi Comparison lets you compare your app against up to five competitors simultaneously. Instead of a Venn diagram, it shows a table where each app has its own rank column, so you can see at a glance how every app in your competitive set ranks for the same keywords.

What the keyword table shows

Both tabs share the same keyword table structure. Each row is a keyword. The columns show the keyword text, its search Volume, Difficulty score, the number of Ranked Apps competing for it, and a Rank column for each app in the comparison. Your app's rank column appears first.

A plus icon appears at the left of each keyword row. Clicking it adds that keyword directly to your Keyword Tracking list for the selected storefront, no additional steps required.

When to use Competitor Keywords

Competitor Keywords is most useful when you want to find specific keyword opportunities rather than monitor keywords you are already tracking.

Use Direct Comparison when you want a focused head-to-head view against one competitor, for example, your closest rival in a specific category. Use Multi Comparison when you want a broader view of the market and need to understand how multiple apps are positioned across the same keyword set.
