About Biggest Losers
Biggest Losers is a ranking intelligence tool that surfaces the apps that have dropped the most positions in the App Store and Google Play Store over a selected period. It covers the Free, Paid, and Grossing charts and lets you measure decline over a single day or a custom date window.
What Biggest Losers shows you
For each app in the ranking, Biggest Losers shows the current rank position, the number of positions dropped (highlighted in red), the previous rank position, and basic app metadata including name, developer, rating, and category. The charts are sorted by size of decline, so the apps that fell the furthest appear at the top.

Normal Sort vs Smart Sort
Biggest Losers offers two sorting modes. Normal Sort measures decline from the previous day to the selected end date, giving you a daily snapshot of what dropped most sharply. Smart Sort measures decline across a custom date range using a Start Date and End Date, letting you identify apps with sustained downward momentum rather than short-term dips.
When to use Biggest Losers
- Spot a competitor dropping sharply and move in on the keywords or categories they are vacating.
- Identify apps whose ranking decline may signal a negative user reaction to a recent update.
- Track the lasting impact of an expired promotional campaign or a seasonal pullback.
- Use Smart Sort to find apps in a sustained multi-week decline that may represent a structural shift in the market.
