About ASO Report

ASO Report is a tool in the ASO Intelligence module of the MobileAction platform. It shows you every keyword your app ranks for in the App Store, how those rankings are distributed across position bands and search volumes, and how the picture changes over time. This article explains what the tool tracks and how it fits into an ASO workflow.

To start using the tool, see ASO Report Overview.

What ASO Report tracks

ASO Report organizes your keyword data around two pools.

Tracked Keywords shows the keywords you have explicitly added to Keyword Tracking.

All Ranked Keywords shows every keyword the App Store currently ranks your app for, regardless of whether you are tracking it.

The two pools use the same set of reports and charts, but the scope of the data is different. Tracked Keywords gives you a focused view of the terms you are actively managing, while All Ranked Keywords gives you the full picture of your organic footprint.

Within each pool, the ASO Report offers different reports:

  • Report by Ranking shows how your keywords are distributed across position bands.
  • Report by Volume shows how your ranked keywords break down by search volume.
  • Report by Brand Keywords separates your rankings into your own brand terms, competitor brand terms, and generic terms.
  • Report by Competitors' Ranking, available only under All Ranked Keywords, overlays a selected competitor's ranking distribution on the same keyword set so you can see where they outrank you.

What the data is useful for

For ASO managers, ASO Report is the quickest way to see whether your overall ranking footprint is growing or shrinking and which position bands are driving that change.

A shift in the 1–3 band is a strong signal about the health of your top-performing keywords. A growing 101+ band may indicate keywords that have dropped out of meaningful visibility.

The date range and compare date controls let you set any period and measure the change between two points in time.

Enabling the App Updates toggle overlays your app's release dates directly on the chart, so you can see whether a ranking shift followed a version update.

Annotations let you mark specific dates on the chart with context (a campaign launch, a metadata change, a competitor move), so the data tells a story rather than just showing numbers.

What the tool does not cover

The ASO Report shows only organic App Store and Google Play Store rankings. It does not show Apple Ads impression data, paid ranking positions, or conversion metrics from the app store product page.

The keyword table shows supporting metrics (Volume, Max Reach, Conversion Rate, Installs, Chance, Ranked Apps), but these are reference data to help you prioritize, not performance outcomes from your campaigns.
