About AI Keyword Planner
This article explains what the AI Keyword Planner does and how the tool is structured. If you are ready to start discovering keywords, see Discover keywords by app or Discover keywords by keyword.
What the AI Keyword Planner does
AI Keyword Planner helps you:
- Find keyword opportunities based on your app or seed keywords
- Evaluate keywords using organic and paid performance data
- Save keywords to lists for later use
- Add keywords directly to ad groups or as negative keywords
- Download keyword data as a CSV file
How the tool is structured
When you open AI Keyword Planner, you first see the landing page.

This page is your starting point for keyword discovery. It presents two discovery options: Discover by App and Discover by Keyword.
If you have previously saved keywords, the landing page also shows a section to continue with your saved keyword lists. You can click View Saved Keywords to open the most recently updated list.
Discovery flows
Discover by App generates keyword recommendations centered around a specific app. You select an app and a country, and optionally add seed keywords to guide the results. The recommendations reflect the app's context, relevance, and visibility in the App Store.

Discover by Keyword generates recommendations based on seed keywords you already know. You enter up to 10 keywords and select a country. The tool generates related keyword suggestions within the context of those keywords.
Both flows lead to the Keyword List page, where your recommendations and saved keywords are displayed in a table with performance metrics.

Keyword metrics
Each recommended keyword is shown with the following metrics:-
Account Status: Shows whether the keyword is already present in your account.
-
Ranking: The selected app's organic ranking for the keyword, based on the previous day's data. Available in app-focused discovery only.
- Paid Activity: Indicates whether at least one advertiser bid on this keyword the previous day.
- Volume: The keyword's search popularity, scored from 5 to 100. Higher scores indicate greater search demand.
- Difficulty: How difficult it is to rank for this keyword, scored from 0 to 100. Higher scores mean greater competition.
- Ranked Apps: The total number of apps currently ranking for this keyword.
Campaign Group Selector
The Campaign Group Selector appears in the top-right corner of AI Keyword Planner. It sets the context for your keyword data, including the Account Status column. The selector defaults to the campaign group with the highest spend in your account over the last 30 days. You can switch between campaign groups at any time, but switching during an active discovery session will reset the workflow and redirect you to the landing page.
Session behavior
AI Keyword Planner works on a session-based structure. If you leave the page, refresh the browser, navigate to another module, close the tab, or log out of the platform, your current session resets. Any unsaved discovery inputs and generated keyword results are cleared. Keywords you have already saved to a list are not affected.
What you can do with keywords
From the Keyword List page, you can take the following actions on selected keywords:
- Save them to a keyword list
- Add them to a search results ad group
- Add them as negative keywords at the campaign or ad group level
- Download them as a CSV file
