About Ad Publisher Analysis

Ad Publisher Analysis shows you which ads are running on a specific publisher app, the creatives being served to that app's audience, the advertisers behind them, and how the ad activity is distributed across formats and networks.

This article explains what the tool tracks and how it fits into an ad intelligence workflow.

To start browsing publisher data, see Browse publishers and analyze ad placement data.

What Ad Publisher Analysis tracks

Where Creative Analysis and Advertiser Analysis are organized around the app running the ads, Ad Publisher Analysis is organized around the app carrying them.

The subject of the view is a publisher, an app whose ad inventory other advertisers are buying to reach its audience. Every creative shown in Ad Publisher Analysis is an ad that was detected running on that publisher app, placed there by an advertiser.

The tool opens with an App Overview showing the publisher app's ranking among all detected publishers, the total count of advertisers whose creatives were detected on it, and the ad SDKs installed in the app. The SDK list tells you which ad networks the publisher is integrated with, which directly affects which advertisers can reach its audience.

Below the overview, the Published Creatives section shows every ad detected on the publisher within the selected filters.

Each creative card shows the advertiser's app name and icon, the ad headline if one was detected, the dates the creative was seen on this publisher, its duration, its Impression Share, and the network icon.

Clicking a creative opens a detail panel with three sections: Creative Details, Copy Analysis, and Top Ad Publishers.

Creative Details includes the ad network chain showing how the creative was routed to the publisher, along with media type, dimensions, first and last seen dates, duration, and status.

At the bottom of the page, Related Creatives shows other ads with similar creative characteristics detected across the broader Ad Intelligence dataset.

How Ad Publisher Analysis differs from Creative Analysis and Advertiser Analysis

Creative Analysis and Advertiser Analysis both start from the advertiser, the app spending money on ads.

Ad Publisher Analysis starts from the publisher, the app earning money by carrying ads. The same creatives may appear in all three tools, but the lens is different.

In Creative Analysis you ask what an advertiser is running. In Ad Publisher Analysis you ask what is running on a specific app's inventory.

This makes Ad Publisher Analysis particularly useful for two scenarios:

  • Identifying which publishers are carrying competitor ads,
  • Evaluating a publisher app as a potential placement for your own campaigns by seeing what category of advertisers already runs there.
